The End Is Just Another Beginning

Friday the 6^th was the start of a new Iowa Western Cheerleading squad. Tryouts were held in Kanesville and went until Saturday. It was an exhausting process, but definitely worth every moment. The last year’s squad was very eventful and unique, and it’s sad to think that those moments we all spent together won’t be able to happen again. I can say though, that I don’t regret any moments on this team. It was hard and very stressful to become a team but that’s part of being the best you can be. Make things work no matter how difficult or stressful. This year with all of my friends has made my college experience one of a kind. We made tons of memories and I have become very attached to cheer. I am proud to say that I was an Iowa Western cheerleader and will be able to come back to another great year of cheerleading. There is never just an end, but there is always a beginning to something new.

Last night four of my girlfriends and I went out to Omaha to go to Spaghetti Works. As we were all out we started to discuss how next year is going to be so different and how this year has gone by so fast. This past weekend was one of the last weekends we all spent together and there is just one more weekend to go which is taken up by cheerleading tryouts. We all had a plan to go to a friend’s house after dinner to have a smores night, but only three of us went out. On the way out of the suites, I was parked right beside some orange cones that were blocking off parking spots, and I accidentally ran one over. I hit it just right to where it got stuck above my tire and I drug it along with us as we moved. It was quite funny because all of the sudden one of the cones was missing. Once we got to Mo’s house there was a fire made in the backyard and chairs sitting around it. We all made our way out to the yard and just started having a bunch of conversations while we made smores. It was a fun night and it’s going to be hard leaving all the people I made memories, like last night with.

This idea started with me in my room just starting to do homework. Britt came into my room and asked me for some baby oil and I of course didn’t. As she was leaving she told me that she and Alyssa were going to lay out in the sun. I don’t have any color to me so I was definitely in to doing that. I got my computer and brought it outside into the court yard and sprayed on some oil and now I am just lying on the cement with Shelby, Britt, and Alyssa. It’s so nice outside, perfect weather to lay out in.

This past weekend two of my friends that were on my high school cheer squad came to visit. They headed up here Thursday the 31^st. That night we all just sat around and chatted in Britt’s room. Friday I showed them around campus and took them to the wonderful caf to experience the food. That night we all got dressed up and went into town, nothing to special there. Next day we all went for brunch and then laid around all day. At night time, we went to Omaha to spaghetti works then to the ice cream parlor right by that street. It was a really fun night with everyone. It was Whit, Britt, Matt, R.J., Terrance, Melvi, Marcos, Lindsey, Alli, Chadwick, and Laura. Big group for a night out but the more the merrier. After we got back to the suites we all just split up into all different rooms and hung out. Sunday morning they left and headed back home to Missouri. I am looking forward to seeing them here next year.

Week in Houston

Spring break flew by so fast! My break consisted of lying around the house and spending money. The first weekend in Houston Juan and I went out to eat and also to the Galveston beach. Then while he was gone 17 hours of the day from Monday to Friday, I watched movies and laid on the couch and slept. Today was our last time together and we went back to the Galveston beach and ate and Landry’s seafood with his roommates’ parents. After supper we went and just cruised all of downtown Galveston and saw 2 mansions that people can tour. It sucked that he was gone most of my break, but time was fun while it lasted. I leave tomorrow and it is going to be hard to say bye. Plus side of it is in a month I will get to go home and meet him again.

First Experience of Spring Break

Only 3 more days until break and I am counting down. I have never had a spring break so I am hoping being in Texas will truly feel like spring break. The week has gone by so slow and it feels like Friday is never going to come. My spring break plan is to fly down to Houston to see my boyfriend. I will be able to spend 9 days with him and I am so excited. We are going to go to the Galveston beach and maybe the galleria mall. J This week though, I have to get through all my tests first. I have marketing and statistics on Thursday which I am studying for now, and psychology on the day I leave. I am stressing out a little because I am not one bit of a procrastinator so it is getting hard for me to even everything out to get done at the right time. Friday get here soon!!!!!

Good Way to Waste Time

Tonight Lind’s and I went out into town so she could tan and afterwards we went to this shop just to waste time. So when we went into this store we just was looking around for different things we could use for really cheap. We finally moved into the clothes section and found some really interesting pieces of clothing. There was a ton of out of dated old clothing that we just had to try on. It consisted of old night gowns and little house on the prairie dresses. :) It was a really fun new experience and a great way to waste time.

So last Tuesday night, Lindsey, Brittyn, and I went out to the cemetery in Council Bluffs. We have been kind of curious on what we could see on camera because Lindsey had a weird thing on her face in one of our pictures. So we went and took a few pictures and I was so shocked at what we saw!! On the screen there was a bunch of little see through spots all over the place, what I thought were orbs. So you can see why I was a little scared. But one of Lindsey’s friends knows all about these orbs and said that it was definitely just moisture. Ha ha I felt dumb for being so scared while we were there when all the dots were just moisture… After our little round about trip to the cemetery we took another adventure to a lookout spot where you can see all of Omaha. It was really pretty and it ended the night a lot better than I thought it was going to end.

Saturday Birthday

This weekend I was home and got to celebrate my sisters 11^th birthday with her. Juan and I took her out for lunch at our favorite Chinese buffet ever! I haven’t been to a good Chinese restaurant since I have moved up here and it was nice to go back to it. Later that night mom took her and her friend plus Juan and I out to cheddars in Joplin. I had a good weekend with my sister. It was so great to spend time with my family and my boyfriend again. And also I would like to add that I have been looking for the marshmallows found lucky charms, and my best friend Lindsey found me some at one of her hometown stores and gave them to me on our way back to Iowa. Yummy! She is the best!

Yesterday at Kanesville arena UCA was hosting a staff tryout. UCA is the biggest company for cheerleading. Staff members from this business have jobs anywhere from holding Elementary, Junior High, and High School camps, to hosting Nationals for High School and College dance and cheer. This business is so popular, and yesterday I had a last minute decision on trying out. I went to this tryout just to watch because I knew for a fact that next year I would want to tryout. I figured if I went and saw the layout of the tryouts I would be able to prepare myself. My coach walked by me and I asked him if I had to leave because it was a closed tryout. He told me no that I should just tryout. So that’s what I did and I really, really hope that I made the job. I love to cheer and to work and be around it every summer until I get sick of it, which will probably be never, would be so incredible.
